Guiding early talent through job searches, interviews, and first roles

Mentoring

I get it - the professional world can be confusing.

Back when I was starting my own career, I was part of a team that designed the internship experience for hundreds of students working at Canada's largest bank. It was there that I met students from different schools and backgrounds, and saw how impactful guidance and mentorship can be. It made me think, “I wish I had someone to help me”.

Now, I want to be about being that person for you. I’m passionate about making sure students and recent grads have the opportunity to learn from people who’ve been in their shoes recently. My mission is to help you set off in your career, and empower you with the tools to help you navigate the transition of student to young professional.

Why I mentor

Having done four co-ops during university, I wish I could go back and give my younger self some advice.

Not everyone has a go-to person for career advice, especially with how fast things can change in the work world. I get it, and I want to be that someone you can chat with and learn from.

To share what I’ve learned

I believe in looking beyond years of experience and looking at drive, passion, and willingness to learn. When hiring talent, I always look at someone’s potential rather than what they’ve already done.

One of the reasons I love mentoring is because it’s inspiring to discover someone finding their passion. By getting to know each other, I want to learn how to help you shine.

To spotlight early talent

Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to mentor dozens of young professionals pursuing design, entrepreneurship, marketing, product management, business, accounting, finance, engineering, and data science. I always love meeting new people, and supporting early talent across all disciplines and backgrounds.

To meet diverse people

  • “Julianna played a huge role in my journey, from being an intern to a full-time product designer and eventually taking the leap into entrepreneurship and starting my own business.”

Kyle Panilan, Founder & Designer at Humanely

  • "Her openness and eagerness to help made me feel very comfortable sharing my stories with her.”

Tiffany Luu, Senior Analyst at NeilsenIQ

  • "It is very clear to me that Julianna is deeply invested in the success of her mentees, as she tries to create an environment where I feel comfortable in asking questions, seek guidance, and grow even outside of the design field."

Kenny Khuu, Recent BDes Graduate from York University
